History of My Life

This is something I've been meaning to write for many many years, and now that I'm probably permanently unemployed (story for another time) I've finally decided to put some notes down. It will be an ongoing creation, subject to rewrite, editing, revision, deletions and otherwise modifications for many many months. So let's start. Birth I was born in 1959 at 2 Underwood St Paddington (I tried to find a photo of it but it's now a butt-ugly block of flats). My parents, who were 21 at the time, had lived there with my paternal grandmother ever since they had married, as my paternal grandfather had "disappeared"  soon after returning from World War II service, so I never met him. A little more on that. I started trying to track him down several years ago and found a few interesting things. 2024 - what a crap year

Update #1 - started this on New Year's Eve last, first chance I've had to update it since. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, we're here at last.. last day of 2024. We made it !! I've been reflecting over the past few days on everything that has happened this year, good and bad, only to realise that the bad outnumbered the good by several orders of magnitude. Let's examine a few of them, shall we ? Car: Because my ex-wife had finally allowed the house to be sold (and then tried to make away with a more significant portion of the proceeds than she was entitled to), I decided to buy myself a Suzuki Jimmny 4WD, only to find that it was woefully underpowered and although economical fuel-wise, it was just a toy.
